ACLOVATE® (alclometasone dipropionate) Cream and Ointment are low to medium potency corticosteroids indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Aclovate Patient Information: Side Effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have severe irritation of any treated skin, or if you show signs of absorbing alclometasone topical through your skin, such as:

  • blurred vision, or seeing halos around lights;
  • mood changes;
  • sleep problems (insomnia);
  • weight gain, puffiness in your face; or
  • muscle weakness, feeling tired.

Aclovate Consumer Information: Uses

This medication is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash). Alclometasone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a low- to medium-strength corticosteroid.

HOW TO USE: Use this medication on the skin only. However, do not use it on the face, groin, or underarms, or for diaper rash, unless directed to do so by your doctor.
