Echinacea is an herb with a broad range of reported medical applications. It has been reported to improve the body’s defenses against viral and bacterial infections. It is used in the treatment of colds, influenza, and sore throats as well as other applications.

Echinacea should not be used in cases of HIV. 4/10

Echinacea should not be used in cases of immune system dysfunction, autoimmune conditions (including systemic lupus) and progressive systemic conditions s.c. as multiple sclerosis, tuberculosis, leukosis, collagen disorders, and diabetes mellitus(injectable form of Echinacea). 4/10

Herb substitutions and adulterations have been reported in products sold as Echinacea. Read labels carefully!

It may cause a mild tingling sensation to the tongue. Other adverse effects are rare.

Echinacea should not be used for longer than 3 to 8 consecutive weeks depending on the application and herb preparation.
