DRUG DESCRIPTION

Cinobac® (Cinoxacin, USP) is a synthetic antibacterial agent for oral administration. Cinoxacin, quinolone, is 1-ethyl-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-[1,3] dioxolo [4,5-g] cinnoline-3-carboxylic acid and occurs as white or very light-yellow, needle-shaped crystals. Cinobac is available as 250-(0.95 mmol) and 500-mg (1.9 mmol) capsules. These capsules also contain D & C Yellow No. 10, F D & C Blue No. 1, F D & C Red No. 3, F D & C Yellow No. 6, gelatin, silicon dioxide, silicone fluid, sodium lauryl sulfate, starch, titanium dioxide, and other inactive ingredients.

The molecular formula is C12H10N2O5 and the molecular weight is 262.22.
