- Ginseng is an herb used primarily for increased stamina, as an adaptogen and for boosting of the immune system.
- If Ginseng is being used over a long period of time then short breaks from ginseng usage should be included in the therapy. These breaks in usage are usually 2-3 weeks.
- Patients should be advised to inform their physician if they are taking phenelzine sulfate, warfarin, estrogens, or corticosteroids and also plan to take this herb.
- Patients should be advised to inform there physician if they have diabetes mellitus, hypertension, or high blood pressure and plan to take this herb.
- Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they become pregnant or intend to become pregnant during therapy.
- Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they are breast feeding an infant and are using or intend to use this herb.
- Patients should be advised to immediately stop usage if they develop an allergic reaction or are experiencing any other adverse response s.c. as nervousness, nausea, or diarrhea.
