Travelers should see a physician before leaving for a trip if

  • they are going to developing countries,
  • they are visiting sites that are not on the usual tourist routes or traveling to high altitudes,
  • they have chronic diseases that could be affected by travel,

Coartem (artemether/lumefantrine) Tablets are indicated for treatment of acute, uncomplicated malaria infections due to Plasmodium falciparum in patients of 5 kg bodyweight and above. Coartem Tablets have been shown to be effective in geographical regions where resistance to chloroquine has been reported [see Clinical Studies].

Limitations of Use:

  • Coartem Tablets are not approved for patients with severe or complicated P. falciparum malaria.
