ciprofloxacin (mixture) oral and erythromycin lactobionate iv both increase causing a dangerous abnormal heart rhythm. Should not be taken together; may cause an abnormal increase in heart rate. Could increase risk of developing torsade de pointes in predisposed patients; however less likely with ciprofloxacin than other quinolones.
