Flovent Diskus Prescribing Information: Indications & Dosage
FLOVENT DISKUS (fluticasone propionate) is indicated for the maintenance treatment of asthma as prophylactic therapy in adult and pediatric patients 4 years of age and older. It is also indicated for patients requiring oral corticosteroid therapy for asthma. Many of these patients may be able to reduce or eliminate their requirement for oral corticosteroids over time.
FLOVENT DISKUS (fluticasone propionate) is NOT indicated for the relief of acute bronchospasm.

Flovent Diskus Consumer Information: Uses
Fluticasone is used to control and prevent symptoms (such as wheezing and shortness of breath) caused by asthma. It works by reducing swelling (inflammation) of the airways in the lungs to make breathing easier. Controlling symptoms of asthma helps you maintain your normal activities and decreases time lost from work or school. Fluticasone belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids.
