Foltx (folacin, cyanocobalamin & pyridoxine) is used to treat hyperhomocysteinemia, with particular emphasis for individuals with or at risk for atherosclerotic vascular disease in the coronary, peripheral, or cerebral vessels, or vitamin B12 deficiency. It is a combination of vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12 and folic acid. This medication is available in generic form. Common side effects include nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, drowsiness, flushing, and numbness/tingling.

The usual adult dose of Foltx is one to two tablets daily or as directed by a physician. Foltx may interact with altretamine, cisplatin, levodopa (when used without carbidopa), folic acid antagonist (e.g., methotrexate), hydantoins (e.g., phenytoin, diphenylhydantoin), pyrimethamine, or other vitamin/nutritional supplements. Tell your doctor all medications or supplements you are taking. Foltx should be used only when prescribed during pregnancy. This medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
