Some products that may interact with this drug include: beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol, labetalol, timolol).
Many drugs besides formoterol may affect the heart rhythm (QT prolongation) including amiodarone, dofetilide, pimozide, procainamide, quinidine, sotalol, macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin), among others. Therefore, before using formoterol, report all medications you are currently using to your doctor or pharmacist.
OVERDOSE: This medication will not work and may be harmful if swallowed. If swallowing or overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US National Poison Hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call a provincial local poison control center. Symptoms of overdose may include: chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, severe nervousness, severe dizziness, fainting, seizures, severe muscle cramps.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others.
Avoid allergens, irritants, smoking, and other factors that make asthma worse.
Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, EKG, pulmonary function) may be performed from time to time to monitor your progress or check for side effects. Consult your doctor for more details.
Learn to use a peak flow meter, use it daily, and promptly report worsening asthma (such as readings in the yellow/red range, increased use of quick-relief inhalers).
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from heat and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.
