Halog Solution (halcinonide) is a topical corticosteroid used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis. The brand name of this medication is discontinued, but generic versions may be available. Common side effects include skin itching, burning, or dryness, thinning or softening of skin, skin rash or irritation around the mouth, swollen hair follicles, changes in color of treated skin, blisters, pimples, crusting of treated skin, or stretch marks.
Apply Halog Solution 0.1% to the affected area two to three times daily. Halog Solution may interact with other drugs. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use. Halog Solution may be harmful to a fetus. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have severe irritation of any treated skin, or if you show signs of absorbing halcinonide topical through your skin, such as:
- blurred vision, or seeing halos around lights;
- mood changes;
- sleep problems (insomnia);
- weight gain, puffiness in your face; or
- muscle weakness, feeling tired.
Less serious side effects may include:
- mild skin itching, burning, or dryness;
- thinning or softening of your skin;
- skin rash or irritation around your mouth;
- swollen hair follicles;
- changes in color of treated skin;
- blisters, pimples, or crusting of treated skin; or
- stretch marks.

The following local adverse reactions are reported infrequently with topical corticosteroids, but may occur more frequently with the use of occlusive dressings (reactions are listed in an approximate decreasing order of occurrence): burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, and miliaria.
