Isuprel (Isoproterenol Hydrochloride) is used as an inhaler to treat conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema. This medication is a bronchodilator. In rare cases, it is given as an injection as a treatment for electrical heart block. This medication is available in generic form. Common side effects include tremor, nervousness, shakiness, headache, nausea, heartburn, lightheadedness, difficulty sleeping, unusual taste in mouth, hoarseness or dry throat as your body adjusts to the medication.
Use Isuprel inhalation exactly as directed by your doctor. Isuprel injection is only administered by a physician, who will determine the dose required for the patient's needs. Isuprel may interact with beta-blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), other inhaled bronchodilators, caffeine, diet pills, or decongestants. Is not known whether it Isuprel be harmful to a fetus. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
