Lortab 5/500 (hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen) is a combination pain reliever containing an opiate (narcotic) pain reliever, hydrocodone and the non-narcotic pain reliever acetaminophen. Lortab is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Among the most commonly reported side effects are drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, constipation, and unclear thinking.
Lortab 5/500 is available as a tablet for oral use. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Lortab is not recommended for use for long periods or in high doses near the expected delivery date because of the potential for harm to an unborn baby. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Based on information from related drugs, this drug may pass into breast milk. Due to the potential risk to the infant, consult your doctor before breastfeeding. Narcotic pain relievers have the potential to become habit-forming and to work less effectively when taken over long periods of time.
Our Lortab 5/500 (hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen) Drug Center provides a comprehensive view of available drug information as well as related drugs, user reviews, supplements, and diseases and conditions.
