Micronase (glyburide) is an oral diabetes medicine used to treat type II diabetes. It is taken in tablet form with breakfast or the first main meal of the day. Side effects can include nausea, stomach pain, low fever, pale skin, easy bleeding, or headache. Other side effects may occur.

It is not known whether glyburide is harmful to an unborn baby. Similar diabetes medications have caused severe hypoglycemia in newborn babies whose mothers had used the medication near the time of delivery. It is not known whether glyburide passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby.

Glyburide is an anti-diabetic drug (sulfonylurea-type) used along with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar.
