Myozyme Prescribing Information: Indications & Dosage

MYOZYME (alglucosidase alfa) is indicated for use in patients with Pompe disease (GAA deficiency). MYOZYME (alglucosidase alfa) has been shown to improve ventilator-free survival in patients with infantile-onset Pompe disease as compared to an untreated historical control, whereas use of MYOZYME (alglucosidase alfa) in patients with other forms of Pompe disease has not been adequately studied to assure safety and efficacy (see Clinical Studies).

Myozyme Patient Information: Side Effects

Some people receiving an injection of alglucosidase alfa have had a reaction to the infusion (when the medicine is injected into the vein). Tell your caregiver right away if you feel dizzy, nauseated, light-headed, sweaty, itchy, or have a fast heartbeat, cold hands, blue lips, tightness in your chest or throat, wheezing, or trouble breathing during the injection.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
