Nystop (nystatin) Topical Powder is used to treat skin infections caused by yeast. It is an antifungal antibiotic. This medication is available in generic form. Common side effects include skin irritation or redness.

The dose of Nystop for adult and pediatric patients is to apply Nystop to candidal lesions two or three times daily until healing is complete. For fungal infection of the feet caused by Candida species, the powder should be dusted on the feet and in all foot wear. It is not likely other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied Nystop. Many drugs can interact with each other. Tell your doctor all prescription and over-the-counter medications and supplements you use. Nystop should be used only if prescribed during pregnancy. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Nystatin Topical Powder is indicated in the treatment of cutaneous or mucocutaneous mycotic infections caused by Candida albicans and other susceptible Candida species.

This preparation is not indicated for systemic, oral, intravaginal or ophthalmic use.
