"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today expanded the approved uses of Abraxane (paclitaxel protein-bound particles for injectable suspension, albumin-bound) to treat patients with late-stage (metastatic) pancreatic cancer.
Advise patients to report:
- Fever, chills, breathing problems, chest pain, tachycardia, and urticaria following infusion.
- Rapid weight gain, edema, and orthostatic hypotension following infusion. Instruct patients to weigh themselves daily.
- Visual loss, including loss of color vision.
