Definition of Antiinfective

Antiinfective: Something capable of acting against infection, by inhibiting the spread of an infectious agent or by killing the infectious agent outright.

Anti-infective is a general term that encompasses antibacterials, antibiotics, antifungals, antiprotozoans and antivirals.
