Definition of Strep, group A
Strep, group A: A well-known strain (a type) of streptococcus (strep) bacteria that can cause strep throat and rheumatic fever. Strep A can also be associated with mild skin infections such as impetigo or more serious skin and soft tissue infections known as cellulitis.
