Definition of Sesamoiditis
Sesamoiditis: Inflammation of a sesamoid bone. The patella (kneecap) is a sesamoid bone. Inflammation of the patella is a form of sesamoiditis. The condition is difficult to diagnosis and can be quite painful yet may respond well to surgery.
