Definition of In-the-canal hearing aid
In-the-canal hearing aid: A hearing instrument custom designed to fit in the ear canal. It protrudes slightly into the outer ear and so is visible. In-the-canal (ITC) instruments are appropriate for mild to moderate hearing losses but not for infants or young children. See also: Hearing aid.
