Definition of Homogentisate 1,2-dioxygenase
Homogentisate 1,2-dioxygenase: The enzyme encoded in the HGD gene. Mutation of HGD \causes the genetic disease alkaptonuria. Homogentisate 1,2-dioxygenase is also called homogentisate oxidase.
