Definition of Sapphism
Sapphism: Female homosexuality. Named after the poet Sappho who lived on the Greek island of Lesbos (circa 600 BC). She was a lesbian by geography and sexual orientation. Also called lesbianism.Source: MedTerms™ Medical Dictionary
