My son has had RAD/asthma since he was 9mo and we use albuteral in a nebulizer when he gets wheezy. It usually works after 1 or 2 doses and didn't make him jittery until he got older. It can be hard to administer using a nebulizer, but distracting him with books, toys and cartoons helps Published: November 09, 2007 ::
This medicine opens up my airways when I can't breathe, but I get many of the side effects. I tremor a lot, get very dizzy, headache, and can't sleep. My pupils also dialate and my skin turns pale. Published: March 22, 2008 ::
I had horrible pneumonia and this helped open airways and contributed 33.3% of making me better did make me have tremors but they were not that bad just shaking and a bit hard to stand and first for like a few days it was 2 vials every 4 hours and then 2 vials 3 times a day and then i could return the machine that was very very annoying(you can stop reading about now) i mean i am trying house and it was BRRRGGGGGGG.....very hard to listen to but very good medicine Published: December 24, 2007 ::
My 12 year old son has been using Albuterol inhalers when he experiences a severe allergic reaction that restricts his air flow. Just recently, we refilled our prescription and use it. I did not realize that the ingredients had changed due to the ozone controversy. The first time he used the albuterol sulfate inhaler, his throat felt like it was burning and he had no immediate relief. Luckily, I had an older inhaler on hand. During his second use of the albuterol sulfate inhaler (a couple months after the first), he developed massive hives at least 3 inches in size and extremely pronounced. His face swelled up like a balloon and his eyes looked like slits. Luckily, a dose of Benadryl calmed his symptoms and his breathing was not impaired any further. However, it took approximately 5 plus hours for the swelling to begin to reduce. I was shocked to learn that the ingredients had been changed and neither the pharmacy nor the physician approached the subject or offered information about possible side effects. In all honesty, I had not realized there was an environmental issue with the older inhalers and that they were being banned from US sales. Beware to all unsuspecting users - always check the ingredients of all prescriptions (even refills). It could save your life!!! Published: March 06, 2009 ::
