Seeing the previous post I can answer that.I started off at the 25 to the 100 with 25 at the 48 hr mark. You may have had the same reason as I did the immediate withdrawal when your body has become tolerant. It will not be easy, but I yell at you do it. It takes months and you have to go down a dosage at a time. I am just coming off the 25 from coming down basically 125. It was not easy and I actually had a TIA stroke. There will be hot cold flashes teeth chattering and yes pain unless your Dr. gives enough appriate break thru meds to help for you to handle that I'm going on the oxys because I feel there is more control taking the pill even though I'll have to be more aware of my liver kidneys etc. Please, please do this I think unless you're terminal much older I'm 51 stay away from the patches they do their job but when you are long term pain pt wait wait wait before going on the patches.

started using patches 2 yrs ago due to brain surgery, had chiari malformation 1 and a syrinx. Also have problems with sciatic nerve and scholisis. went from 50 to 100mcg change every 2 days.Due to the fact on 2nd night to 3rd day could not function had to stay in bed. Have had problems w generic skin irration/falling off, felt like meds weren't as strong, meds didn't last long-had to use hydomorphone for break through pain. Name brand med was on back order at pharamacy. I don't need to use hydromorphone nearly as often since changing to every 2 days, only when breakthrough pain becomes unbearable. I have found that medical tape leaves less irration than the covers that are recommended by duragesic maker. I also was given patient leaflet from pharmacy that states u should only use tegaderm or one other covering, cannot afford these due to lack of ins. coverage, they will only cover them if they are for an open wound- get that one! I was wondering if others have had an issue with patches bunching up, happen to me all the time on last day. When the meds start running low in the patch looks like the patch almost shrinks up this is when bunching up occurs. Good luck to all who are using and i wish you a painfree day.
This medication is very effective with a secondary pain medication.
