I really like femcon, it has worked out really well for me! I have had less nausea, headaches & my period are shorter & lighter! If you do miss 1 pill you will start bleeding, so it reminds you very much if you forget to take them the right way. Published: November 29, 2007 ::

I have been on Femcon for 2 months and finally demand to be taken off. I have gained over 12 pounds. I broke out really badly. I was emotional, from weight gain. My tongue felt thick making it hard to swallow. Always feel exhausted. Have had pressure on the temple area. Knees and ankles have been in pain and irritated. My periods have been long. I have had heavy spotting throughout the last 2 months that make it seem as though my period never stops! After all of the above and seeing more reviews on medications.com I have concluded this is not safe to be on. Who ever thought that chewable birth control was a good idea anyway? I have tried at least 7 different oral contraceptives. This is the first one to completely stop my breakthrough bleeding and continuous, heavy periods. Even if I take a pill late, I do not breakthrough bleed--which always happened before. This pill has been excellent for me. Published: December 15, 2008 ::

Comment from: 25-34 Female on Treatment for 6 months - 1 year (Patient)

I have been on Femcon Fe for several months. I've been on bc for almost 10 yrs for irregular and long periods. Even with other bcs I was bleeding for 8-10 days. This med has dropped my bleeding to 3-4 days, although it makes me nervous about being pregnant sometimes b/c I'm used to much more bleeding. I weight has been fluctuating more than normal, with weight gain up to 5 pounds at times. I do seem to be more moody around the time of my period. My face is broken out, but I have always had a problem with acne, so again I'm not sure if this is due tot he med. I think I like this med OK, and will probably continue to take it, even after reading these other reviews, b/c it has shortened my periods. Published: October 01, 2008 ::

I suffer from fibroids and every other pill I have been on has caused me to bleed twice a month for about 10 days each time. That's right 20 days of bleeding. I am on my 3rd month of Femcon and I have no bleeding at all (I did have an endometrial oblation a year ago. However, I was still bleeding with the other pills). The only thing is that my eyes are dry, which i can live with. And I get an itchy rash on my legs once a month. But it seems to get better each month. I did not notice a probelm with my weight or my sex drive. Published: February 20, 2008 ::

I am spotting between periods, this only happens if I miss a pill, however, it is annoying. I am definitely moody, and I think I've gained weight which has made me depressed. I noticed problems with my contacts and an increase in headaches also. Not sure if I can attribute this to the pill or not. Not sure I want to stay on it though.... Published: November 13, 2007 ::

Terrible experience!!!I had my period for over 3 months. Doctor put me on this medicine for stop bleeding. NO HELP! And the side effects almost killed me! raised blood pressure, cramps in the belly, spot darkness on the face, headche, etc. I ONLY TOOK THE MEDICINE FOR 16 DAYS! After I read the comments here, I decided to stop it. It's not worth to suffer another 2-3 months to try the period becoming regular. After I stoped the medicine, the blooding was getting heavy 3 days, then it's clean! Thank you,GOD ! Now my period has had clean completely for 12 days. I feel much better, but the side effects are still there. Published: March 08, 2009 ::

I love this pill, it has done wonders for me. I'm 38 and have been on Lo-oval for 20 yrs. My periods started getting long and very heavy a few months ago, things were going dry in "lady land" and I was very moody and depressed. My doctor put me on Femcon FE. I have been on Femcon FE for 3 weeks. I have had no bleeding, I have lots more of energy now, no moodiness or depression now. Lady land is no longer dry like the sahara desert :) This pill has been a true blessing for me. I hope I feel the same way once I have my period. I'm actually excited to start my period to see what happens. My doctor said, this pill was a good pill for people my age. She said, it provides the right amount of everything that I need.
