I have a history of diverticulosis. Twice now when food got trapped in the intestine pockets, I have been prescribed Lactulose. When I asked how this worked so quickly to eliminate my pain, the doctor explained this medication acts as a magnet to enter the pockets and then eliminates the rotting food particles trapped in there. It creates moisture and sends it on its way thru the intestines where it should go.

This stuff tastes great, especially compared to Milk of Magnesia. Highly reccomend if you can't stand the taste of other constipation remedies.

I love this stuff. I have had 2-3 BM everyday since the 3rd day I started using it which was 3 months ago. I use it in combination with Amitiza and it works great. I have tried drinking so many weird things from fiber to mirilax to mineral oil to vinegar to prune juice and I must say compared to those things the Lactulose goes down much easier. It tastes like Karo syurp. It is very inexpensive compared to laxatives and fiber stuff. I get 2 liters for 10.00 and it lasts a little over a month. I work at a doctors office and I have highly recommended this to our doctors to prescribe their patients.

My son is 17 months old and has had a horrible time with constipation since he was about 6 months old. We have tried Miralax, mineral oil, and changes in his diet. Nothing has worked. I took him to the doctor and said we have to do something. He shouldn't scream and cry when he has a BM so we decided to try Lactulose. I have him his first dose on Saturday morning and by Monday he was pretty much normal. Hopefully this is our answer.

I have tried EVERYTHING from Women's Correctal to fiber drinks and every other type of pills and liquids they make and NOTHING works better for me than this. I have a hard time drinking it in juice or straight since it is so thick so I use it as the sweetener in my cup of hot tea and you don't even notice it then. As far as cramps and gas go ... I had a lot of both with the other laxitives but none that I have noticed with this. It is WONDERFUL TO BE REGULAR.

I HAVE NOT HAD A GOOD BOWEL MOVEMENT FOR 13 DAYS,my physician had me try this on Friday a.m. takine twice a day, on Monday still hasn't worked. But plenty of gas, nothing else.

I like many tried all sorts of remedies, I found Lactulose works great. Yea, it tastes awful but I mix it with a little OJ and down it goes, I also only take it once a day,3tsp. I have some cotton mouth, gas but not bad, before I was constipated for days to a week, that was much worse!!

Excessive flatulance accompaied by stomach soreness

Great stuff, I finally found something that works for me. I tried laxatives, fiber drinks, prune juice, mineral oil, etc., and nothing worked. I take this along with MiraLax and they work great.

I don't know what all the bad reviews on the taste and effectiveness are about. I don't mind the taste at all (try Milk of Mag. sometime) and it seems to be pretty effective in keeping me regular. I take a TBS every morning. My only complaint is that I seem to have a lot of flatulence which I think is from the Lactulose.
