I had cataracts in both eyes, am 44. Started this med 2 days prior to first operation and followed that with 2 weeks of use. Started this med in second eye two days prior to stopping drops in first eye. After second operation I had to continue this med in second eye for two weeks. Stopped this med, going from 4 drops per day to 0. Within 4 days my first eye started watering, ached, and could not stand light. Went to eye doctor and was told 2% of people who use this med CANNOT stop cold turkey, they have to gradually taper off. Had to use this med 1 drop per hour for 4 days, then 1 drop per two hours for 3 day (this is where I am now) and then will start with one drop per 4 hours for I do not know how long, I go back to the eye doctor in 2 days. My 94 year old Mother has been on Omntpred since Aug 08. For cataract surgery of left eye then in Oct. 08 for the right eye. We had problems with the first eye but nothing as bad as the so called good eye! She has develped high eye pressure in the right eye. So we added another RX and then another RX. At this point we are using more RX's then we did with the first bad eye! The list of med's is.. Alphagan p 1 % Drop in Both Eyes 2 times per day, Azopt 1% Drop in ** Right ** Eye, 2 times per day, Acular LS Drop in ** RIGHT ** EYE, down to 3 times per day, Omnipred Drop in ** RIGHT ** EYE, down to 2 times per day, ~~ BOTH EYES ~~ Travatan Z @ bedtime, ~~ BOTH EYES ~~"PILOPINE HS 4% EYE GEL @ bedtime. VIGAMOX WAS STOPED LAST WEEK. we did this for over 3 weeks. Anyone know if all of these med's can cause added dementera??? My mom is on alot of med's and she is becoming worce then before all of these eye drugs!! Published: November 22, 2008 ::

I had cataract surgery in both eyes. The first surgery was in December and the second was in January. I cannot take less then 2 drops per day. After taking one drop beginning Thursday morning, by Friday morning by eyes became red, inflamed, and sensitive to light. My eyes were even sensitive while wearing the medical sunglasses. By Saturday morning I could not take the pain and called my doctor. He told me to go back to three drops a day in each eye. Now my doctor has prescribed another medication, so I will see how this works. It was very comforting to know that I am not the only person experiencing these side effects from this medication. I was beginning to feel like a weirdo. Published: February 16, 2009 ::

I had lasik surgery and placed under this medication. Immediately after one drop per eye, my eye sight gets blurry, whitish cloud over my eyes, then I close my eyes for 3 minutes and the fogginess leaves. My drop back is that it leaves or creates a white mucus film around the bottom eye lid and have to remove it using q-tip or tissue. Maybe this is the end result and kills bacteria.
