I began taking this drug at the age of 19 for acne and birth control. I'm 26 now, and I just stopped taking it in favor of Loestrin. It hadn't caused me many problems (weight gain, but that is likely my fault). I did Accutane to help with my acne; Ortho Tri-Lo never helped. However, I have never been pregnant, so I give it highest effectiveness points. I switched because about 2 months ago I started having two periods a month (the abnormal one was usually lighter). My gyno suggested Loestrin because my body might have simply changed from when I first started the Pill. I've not experienced any problems on Loestrin, but I certainly did have a good 7 year run with Ortho Tri Lo.
