I have fibromyalgia withh migraines. I take this medication for the migraines but since i've taken it i've been sleeping through the night, don't have muscle pain and haven't had a migraine at all. I do feel groggy during the day but I can live with it better than the pain. Published: October 24, 2007 ::

I'm using Pamelor/nortryptyline for sleep. I have fibro and don't use it as an antidepressant. I haven't had a "hung over" feeling in the morning. Published: November 11, 2007 ::

I doctor put me on this medication to prevent migranes, dut to the fact that I do not sleep threw the night. The sleep aid helps me sleep well and I haven't had a migrane while on it. I do fill groggy more often during the day though and have headaches when i miss a dose. Published: October 23, 2007 ::

If you have problems with headaches, take the medication that is used to treat them. Do not take an antidepressant for this condition even if there is a chance it would calm them. Published: January 30, 2008 ::

I work nights and this medication is supposed to be taken at the same time every day which is very difficult. Plus it made me very tired I would sleep for 10-15 hours a day (wow)! I was constantly confused like i was wondering aroud in fog. Plus the doctor started me on 1 pill for 3 days, then 2 pills for 3 days, then 3 pills for the remainder of the month! I took Nortriptyline for 4 weeks to ease my fibromyalgia symptoms. It kicks the depression and anxiety in the butt, but my migraines persisted and my heart kinda went wacky. I had to go off of it. Too bad because I was becoming interested in doing things again. I am now on Doxepin which is making me irritable and sleepy. Published: October 19, 2008 ::

I took this medication 1988-1990. It worked well at first but then I began eperiencing extreme depression episodes, even worse than the ones I had before I started this medication. Also experienced side effects such as constipation and acid reflux. Also took Lexapro and Effexor and had no such side effects. Published: December 05, 2008 ::

Pamelor is for me although I was gaining weight, and the migraines remained with me at a rate of about four or so a month. For this I took another prescription drug. However after my doctor added another med, it resulted in nearly 100% reduction of migraines. I have not had a "real" migraine since I don't know when! I sometimes have drowsiness when awaking in the morning on occasions. Sometimes I go through weak periods where sitting becomes a necessity, and standing is not an option. Because I feel that I will collapse otherwise. Over all I have had great success with this med, and it seems like the weight problem stopped when I went on the second med. I write this positive report because all of the reports I read were negative. Of course my problem may not have been as severe as those whose woes I read. I've been to the well known migraine clinic North of Chicago, to a doctor in Elkhart, IN (whom I heard had success with migraines), then to this neurologist. Published: September 30, 2008 ::

What's worse migraines with fibro and arthritis, or cotton mouth, constantly dizzy, stuck in a fog, and gaining 20+ pounds? I'm sorry it's almost worth dealing with the horrible natural pain than the horrible misery these pills put you in. Published: July 26, 2008 ::
