This medication is very dangerous to someone who has mental problems. My sister-in-law took this and had severe mental outburst and a deadly threat to herself and society. Be very careful of out of control personality. I do not recommend it - not worth the risk. Published: November 04, 2008 ::

I was on Pegintron and Ribaviron ( 600mg daily) with the shots weekly. This was the most difficult medication I have ever experienced. The side effects can be and are severe. The weekly shots make you feel like you have a very bad flu; fever, chills, N/V, severe mood swings and severe fatigue. Dry skin and rashes can be very bad also ( i used gold bond cream daily on legs and abdomin - felt like having poison oak). I also found that I was allegic to almost everything... I had never had a latex allergy but after 1 month on the med I developed a severe allergy. See your doctor for an antihistamine if you have this issue. I took Xyzal and it worked well. THE GOOD NEWS -- it worked!!!! my blood work came back as " Virus undetectable" If you are on this med, hang in there its worth it.... Published: January 27, 2009 ::

I have been taking this drug for 2.5 months. The fevers/chills/sweats that occur the night after the medication admin can be severe. Very similar to having a very bad flu. 1 side effect or these drugs are the histamine releases that I experience from contact with substances that were never an issue before, ex. latex allergy; hives, rashes, itching. Benedryl works but you find new irritants where you were not allegic before. I dont know about depression personally but I know that it get really old injecting yourself with the flu every weekend.
