yes, even though this drug helped what it was supposed to, it had many side effects. Your face puffs up, like you just got your wisdom teeth pulled. I developed soars in my nostrils, and had major mood swings. You also have weight gain because of an increased appetite. So yes the effectiveness is great but me personally have a hard time with its side effects.

My doctor prescribed prednisolone (6-day Medrol Pak) in response to my complaint of worsening back pain due to L4-L5 bulged disks that I had been previously been addressing with exercise and occasional NSAIDs (Voltarin - diclofenac sodium). Although six days is a short time and I have no way of knowing how I'd have felt without the drug, it seemed far less effective than the NSAID. I will say, though, that I also did not experience any of the negative side effects mentioned on the package, such as upset stomach, nervousness, palpitations, etc. Each tablet being only 4 mg and there being only 21 doses in 6 days, I suppose that's not surprising. Anyway, glad to say tomorrow is the last day and I hope to switch back to NSAID and/or Tylenol until I can get back to just exercise.

My five year old son took three doses of this medication. On the morning of the 3ed day, he woke up and could not walk. We thought that his legs were asleep and brushed it off. On the 4th morning the same thing happened however it was much more severe. We discontinued the medication.

I have terrible swelling and pain in my fingers from arthritis. My fingers have nodes and are beginning to grow crooked. At times the pain is unbearable to even grip a steering wheel in the car. Prednisone is far more effective than a pain reliever. I am virtually pain free when I use Prednisone.

My 7 year old daughter has a severe case of eczema and this is the one drug that really helps her when she has a very severe flare up. It really helps the clear her skin and relieve most of the itching. It has really been a life saver for her. One thing though, since it is a steroid, I only use it as a last resort.

I was given this medication to take as i had mild case of 'Proctitis' (10mg a day) and WOW! within days my inflammation was gone, and my skin rashes dissapeared my complextion became unblemished, my face became more rounder a looked 21 (instead of 38) i felt confident i had huge amounts of energy with very little sleep i looked and felt better. I was only on them for a month afterwards i felt ok my rashes return a little but i kept my weight down by not eating (down from 69 kg to 67 kg now) I still take these now and again (10mg a day for up to 2 weeks) because the boost it gives me in unbelievable, without my Doctor knowing the only side effects were i could'nt sleep much, but thats a small price to pay i would take these forever i it was'nt for on thing... it reduces bone denisty.. thats why i only take about 10mg a day for 2 weeks maybe once every 3 months. My god this is my NZT......... Johnny B UK 5'10" 67 KG
