Drug co. says each. inhaler contains 100 puffs..however, I am only realizing about 30-34. Yes...the raspy/Julie London voice and I can no longer sing, but it is a LOT better than Advair, which caused terrible anxiety.I'd like to hear about the "puff #'s from other users Thanks Nan

I have been taking Qvar for almost 2 months now. It has helped and I need to use the rescue inhaler a lot less. Since being on it, I have had a lot of bloating and water retention. My doc says that can be a side effect and I don't like it, but I guess it's better than not breathing! I'm hoping I can go off after the seasonal allergy subsides.

Some days, this works really well; others, I feel exactly like I did before I started taking it. On particularly humid or pollen-heavy days, I don't feel like I can breathe at all.

I was prescribed Qvar inhaler in early May for asthmatic bronchitis to use 2 puffs/twice a day for 4 weeks. I noticed sloughing of my oral muscosa. I had shortness of breath over the coming months. By the first of September I had internal bleeding...was found to be severely anemic due to gastric ulcers. Although some lifestyle factors may have contributed to the ulcers, I have since learned that glucocortoid medications can cause ulcer formation.

Took this medication because my insurance company wouldn't pay for Singulair, which I took successfully for 8 years with no side effects. Had horrible mood swings and depression. Had to stop taking it after 1 week.

I have been on Qvar for about 1 1/2 months . I just recently noticed that I have thrush. I do not get the benefit from this and Symbicort like I did when taking Advair HFA.

I had serious mood disturbances with QVAR and had to come off it after 3 weeks. It definitely helped my asthma but the mood changes were so rapid and severe, I had to stop.

It took me about three weeks of using before I noticed a difference. I now use my rescue inhaler a few times a week as opposed to the few times a day.
