So far this has been a good experience. They started me on this b/c brand synthroid caused horrific headaches and bad acne. So far, these items are going away with Tirosint. Drug stores have to order, but doc gave me sample. Recommend it for people who are frustrated with levo and synthroid brand. I am just hoping that within 6 weeks acne is totally clear and things are smooth. this is my 5th or 6th dose try of levo.....
This drug caused my feet and hands to sweel because of the sodium. I had to use and additional water pill to eliminate the swelling. Can't be sure but the first three weeks after taking it, I became very depressed and cried for 2 weeks.
I have just taken it for two days and by the evening of that second day my ankle and wrist were sore and my grip was very weak. I cannot think of anything else to blame for these pains, just because I have never had any thing like this before. I am back to my Synthroid and all ready feeling better. So, just keep an eye out for symptoms and don't ignore anything that does not feel normal...
allergic reaction to dyes and fillers in Synthroid. Taking gel cpas and the reactions are gone and I feel better than I have in years. awful body aches, rashes, palptations and chest discomfort are all gone, Finally soemthing w/o side effects that works!!
Didn't give me heartburn, but gave me such severe screaming pain in every muscle of my body, it's been like hospital screaming pain. Every muscle, deep pain, total agony and my lower back feels broken. If you are sensitive to meds, you might want to rethink trying this one.

Wow, I only lasted 2 days on this med, 88mcg . I started out feeling a little anxious on the first day, and the second day I had a headache that got worse as the day went on, and a fast pulse of 120! With aches in neck & shoulders. I was on synthroid 100 mcg for 20 yrs, and never had an issue once the dose was regulated. I have been experiencing itching and both endo dr and allergist dr thought it could be triggered by the sulfa dyes on the outside coating of the synthroid, as I do have an allergy to sulfa....FYI: the 50mcg has no dyes and will be calling dr today to request going to 2 tabs of that. The allergist is doing skin tests as well to see exactly what is making me itch. Like my endo but definitely not this new med.....

I have been on tirosint 125 for three months. At first it felt like a wonder drug. For the first time in over 4 years i didnt feel the swollen thyroid gland in my neck. I could swallow comfortably and had no pain. My body felt better than it had in years, my energy increased, my body temp was normal, everything associated with thyroid ( symptoms) felt better than ever. However, about a month into using it, i started to develop anxiety symptoms, i kept blaming it on my business. Then heart palps, a tremor, leg cramps SO bad i couldnt sleep. This continued for a month, i was still blaming it on stress and anxiety. Finally one night everything was so out of hand i finally went to the E.R. at which point we realized i had toxic amounts of the drug, low potassium and low magnesium. I was immediately taken off the tirosint, and literally felt better within days. I am back on synthroid and have no symptoms of anxiety, or any of those horrific leg pains. SO, be careful with this drug as it is new, my experience with it was wonderful at first, but just pay close attention to any possible side effects, and do not brush them off as just stress as i did for so long. I should have called my doc and had my levels checked.
