"April 22, 2010 -- Type 2 diabetes patients who took the new once-a-day injectable drug Victoza achieved better blood sugar control and lost more weight than patients who took the widely prescribed oral drug Januvia, a study shows.
Overdoses have been reported in clinical trials and post-marketing use of Victoza. Effects have included severe nausea and severe vomiting. In the event of overdosage, appropriate supportive treatment should be initiated according to the patient's clinical signs and symptoms.
Do not use in patients with a prior serious hypersensitivity reaction to Victoza or to any of the product components.This monograph has been modified to include the generic and brand name in many instances.
