What Is Albuked?

Albuked (albumin - human solution) is an albumin solution used for emergency treatment of hypovolemic shock, burn therapy, cardiopulmonary bypass, acute liver failure, and for sequestration of protein rich fluids (that occurs in such conditions as acute peritonitis, pancreatitis, mediastinitis, and extensive cellulitis).

What Are Side Effects of Albuked?

Side effects of Albuked are rare and may include:

  • allergic reactions such as hives, chills, fever, and changes in respiration, pulse and blood pressure

Dosage for Albuked

The concentration of Albuked used, its dosage, and infusion rate should be adjusted to the patient's individual requirements and clinical indication.

Albuked In Children

Safety and effectiveness of Albuked in the pediatric population have not been established.

What Drugs, Substances, or Supplements Interact with Albuked?

Albuked should not be mixed with protein hydrolysates, amino acid solutions nor those containing alcohol.

Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.

Albuked During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant before using Albuked; it is unknown how it would affect a fetus. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

SIDE EFFECTS

Adverse reactions to albumin are rare. Such reactions may be allergic in nature or be due to high plasma protein levels from excessive albumin administration. Allergic manifestations include urticaria, chills, fever, and changes in respiration, pulse and blood pressure.
