What Is Alfuzosin and How Does It Work?

Alfuzosin is a prescription medication used for treating the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

What Are Dosages of Alfuzosin?

Adult dosage

Tablet, extended-release

  • 10mg

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

Adult and geriatric dosage

  • 10 mg orally every day, taken after the same meal

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Moderate to severe liver impairment
  • Coadministration with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir) or other alpha1-blocking agents
