Definition of Ambulatory EEG (electroencephalogram, electroencephalography)

Ambulatory electroencephalogram (EEG): a machine that records brain activity. Ambulatory EEG is technology that allows for continuous recording at home for up to 72 hours, which is useful for diagnosing and monitoring epilepsy and certain sleep disorders.

Also referred to as ambulatory electrocephalography.
