Drug Description

What is Benzedrex and how is it used?

Benzedrex is an over-the-counter medicine used to treat symptoms of Nasal Congestion. Benzedrex may be used alone or with other medications.

Benzedrex belongs to a class of drugs called Decongestants, Intranasal. 

It is not known if Benzedrex is safe and effective in children younger than 6 years of age. 

What are the possible side effects of Benzedrex?

Benzedrex may cause serious side effects including:

  • hives, 
  • difficulty breathing, 
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, 
  • severe headache, 
  • blurred vision, 
  • agitation, 
  • confusion, 
  • paranoia, 
  • hallucinations, 
  • nausea, 
  • vomiting, 
  • chest pain, 
  • fast heartbeats, and 
  • pounding in your neck or ears

Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.

The most common side effects of Benzedrex include:

  • burning or stinging in your nose, 
  • sneezing, and
  • runny nose 

Tell the doctor if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.

Uses

For the temporarily relief of nasal congestion due to a cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies (allergic rhinitis).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Directions

  • adults and children 6 to 12 years of age (with adult supervision): two inhalations in each nostril not more than every two hours.
  • children under 6 years of age: consult a doctor

HOW SUPPLIED

Storage And Handling

  • store at 59°-86° F (15°-30° C)
  • keep inhaler tightly closed

  • this inhaler is effective for a minimum of 3 months after first use

Inactive ingredients: lavender oil, menthol
