Breast implants: prosthetic devices surgically inserted in order to change the size, shape, and/or contour of a person's breast. Breast implants may be used as part of a cosmetic breast augmentation procedure or may be placed during post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. Less commonly, they are used to correct deformities or birth defects of the chest. Breast implants may be made of different materials, including saline solution, silicone gel, or a composite filler.
