What Is Poly-Ureaurethane and How Does It Work?

Poly-ureaurethane is used to manage signs and symptoms of nail dystrophy (i.e., nail splitting, nail fragility) for intact or damaged nails.

Nail Solution

  • 16%

Dosage Considerations – Should be Given as Follows:

Nail Dystrophy

  • Indicated for managing signs and symptoms of nail dystrophy (i.e., nail splitting, nail fragility) for intact or damaged nails
  • Apply to affected nail plate once daily before bedtime

Administration

  • Remove bottle cap, dip the applicator into product and wipe off excess on the lip of the bottle
  • Apply in even strokes to the affected nail plate (in entirety), proximal and lateral folds, and the distal tip
  • Allow the product to dry completely before applying pads or clothing
  • Replace the cap on the bottle when not in use
  • Clean affected nails with nail polish remover once weekly

Storage and Safety

  • Store at room temperature (15-30ºC [59-86ºF]) away from heat
  • Avoid storage in excessive heat and humidity
  • Flammable liquid; avoid use near open flames and sources of ignition
  • Use in a well-ventilated area
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Do not allow product to come into contact with floors, countertops, furniture, or other finished

What Are Warnings and Precautions for Poly-Ureaurethane? 

Warnings

  • This medication contains poly-ureaurethane. Do not take Nuvail if you are allergic to poly-ureaurethane or any ingredients contained in this drug.
  • Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

Contraindications

  • Do not apply directly to deep, open, or profusely bleeding wounds

Cautions

  • May temporarily sting upon application
  • Persons sensitized to isocyanate should not use this product
  • If redness or irritation appears, discontinue use and contact the physician
  • Use of other products (e.g., ointments, creams lotions) before application may prevent the film from forming correctly and reduce the effectiveness

Pregnancy and Lactation

  • Use poly-ureaurethane with caution during pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. Animal studies show risk and human studies are not available or neither animal nor human studies were done.
  • It is unknown if poly-ureaurethane is distributed in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
