What Is Peppermint Oil and How Does It Work?

Peppermint Oil is an herbal supplement that has found to be effective as treatment for colic, common cold, dysmenorrhea, indigestion, inflammation of mouth/pharynx, irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, vomiting, pain, respiratory infections, and tension headaches.

Peppermint Oil is available under the following different brand names: Lavandulae aetheroleum, Balm Mint, Black Peppermint, Brandy Mint, Curled Mint, Feuilles de Menthe, Menthe Piperita, Menthe Poivree, Our Lady's mint, White Peppermint.

What Are Warnings and Precautions for Peppermint Oil?

Warnings

Avoid use in patients with absence of hydrochloric acid in the gastric secretions (achlorhydria) with enteric coated caps. Avoid use with infants and children.

This medication contains peppermint oil. Do not take Lavandulae aetheroleum, Balm Mint, Black Peppermint, Brandy Mint, Curled Mint, Feuilles de Menthe, Menthe Piperita, Menthe Poivree, Our Lady's mint, and White Peppermint. If you are allergic to peppermint oil or any ingredients contained in this drug.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
