Drug Description

What is Deconex DMX and how is it used?

Deconex DMX is an over the counter medicine used to treat the symptoms of temporary relief of Nasal Congestion, Cough and Bronchial Irritation. Deconex DMX may be used alone or with other medications.

Deconex DMX belongs to a class of drugs called Cough/Cold, Non-Narcotic Combos; Antitussive/Decongestant/Expectorant Combos.

It is not known if Deconex DMX is safe and effective in children younger than 6 years of age.

What are the possible side effects of Deconex DMX?

Deconex DMX may cause serious side effects including:

  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nervousness,
  • dizziness,
  • sleeplessness,
  • persistent cough,
  • fever, and
  • severe dizziness

Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.

The most common side effects of Deconex DMX include:

  • dizziness,
  • headache,
  • nausea,
  • nervousness, and
  • trouble sleeping

Tell the doctor if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.

Purpose (in each tablet)

Uses

Temporarily relieves these symptoms due to the common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis) or other upper respiratory allergies:

  • cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation
  • helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to drain bronchial tubes and make coughs more productive
  • nasal congestion
  • reduces swelling of nasal passages

Dosage

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Directions

Do not exceed recommended dosage.

Adults and children 12 years of age and over: 1 tablet every 4 hours, not to exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours.

Children 6 to under 12 years of age: ½ tablet every 4 hours, not to exceed 3 tablets in 24 hours.

Children under 6 years of age: Consult a physician.

HOW SUPPLIED

Other Information

Store at controlled room temperature between 15°-30°C (59°-86°F).

Supplied in a tight, light-resistant container with a child-resistant cap. Deconex DMX Tablets are orange, oblong, capsule-shaped, scored tablets, debossed "POLY" bisect "730" on one side and blank on the other side.
