famotidine oral and atazanavir-cobicistat oral
famotidine oral will decrease the level or effect of atazanavir-cobicistat oral by reducing stomach acidity. This interaction may occur when both drugs are taken by mouth. H2-receptor antagonists (H2RA) reduce blood levels of atazanavir. Administer atazanavir 2 hr before or 1 hr after these medications. Take atazanavir simultaneously with the H2RA or at least 10 hours afterward.
famotidine oral and atazanavir-cobicistat oral
famotidine oral will decrease the level or effect of atazanavir-cobicistat oral by increasing gastric pH. Applies only to oral form of both agents. Atazanavir solubility decreases as pH increases. Substantially reduced plasma concentrations of atazanavir are expected if H2-receptor antagonists (H2RA) are coadministered. For treatment-naïve patients, take atazanavir simultaneously with the H2RA or at least 10 h afterwards. See dosage adjustment recommendations if coadministered in treatment-experienced patients.
