omeprazole oral will increase the level or effect of citalopram oral by altering drug metabolism. Citalopram 20 mg/day is the maximum recommended dose for patients when taken in this combination because of the risk of QT prolongation (abnormal heart beats). ECG monitoring is recommended, along with drugs that may prolong the QT interval.
