propylthiouracil oral will decrease the level or effect of sodium iodide-131 (i-131) oral by Other mechanism. Thyroid agents decrease uptake of sodium iodide I-131 by the thyroid gland; your doctor will have you discontinue antithyroid medications at least 3-4 days before administering sodium iodide I-131 and do not use together.
