st. john's wort oral will decrease the level or effect of lumacaftor-ivacaftor oral by altering drug metabolism. Blood levels of ivacaftor may be reduced by 57%, reducing the effectiveness of lumacaftor/ivacaftor. Combining these drugs is not recommended.

st. john's wort oral will decrease the level or effect of lumacaftor-ivacaftor oral by affecting hepatic/intestinal enzyme CYP3A4 metabolism. Strong CYP3A inducers have minimal effect on lumacaftor exposure, but decreased ivacaftor exposure (AUC) by 57%. This may reduce the effectiveness of lumacaftor/ivacaftor. Therefore, coadministration is not recommended.
