Lacrimal system probing and irrigation is a procedure used to examine the anatomy and functional status of the lacrimal drainage system of the eyes. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and involves placing probing instruments into the lacrimal ducts. It is often indicated to examine the extent of trauma or to determine the presence of blockage of the drainage system of the eyes.
