What Is Niferex-150?

Niferex-150 Capsules (ferrous asparto glycinate and polysaccharide iron) Complex is a dietary supplement used to treat and prevent vitamin C and iron deficiencies. Niferex-150 is available in generic form.

What Are Side Effects of Niferex-150?

Common side effects of Niferex-150 include:

  • stomach upset,
  • nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • constipation,
  • staining of the teeth, and
  • black-colored stools

Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:

  • Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights;
  • Serious heart symptoms such as fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in your chest; shortness of breath; and sudden dizziness, lightheartedness, or passing out;
  • Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.

Dosage for Niferex-150

The recommended dose of Niferex-150 is 1 or 2 capsules daily.

What Drugs, Substances, or Supplements Interact with Niferex-150?

Warfarin, estrogen, and birth control may interact with Niferex-150. Tell your doctor all medications you take. Keep Niferex-150 out of reach of children.

Niferex-150 During Pregnancy or Breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking Niferex-150.

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Call your doctor at once if you have:

  • bloody or tarry stools; or
  • severe stomach pain or cramps.

Common side effects may include:

  • constipation, diarrhea;
  • nausea, upset stomach;
  • black or dark colored stools; or
  • temporary staining of the teeth.
