Definition of Alcoholic cardiomyopathy

Alcoholic cardiomyopathy: disease of the heart muscle caused by damage from excess alcohol consumption and the toxic effects of alcohol on the heart muscle. Alcoholic cardiomyopathy, like other types of cardiomyopathy, can lead to heart failure.
