Organic toxic dust syndrome (OTDS): a flu-like illness that arises after heavy exposure to organic dust. Symptoms can include fever, chills, dry cough, fatigue, muscle aches, shortness of breath, headaches, and nausea. It has been most commonly described in agricultural workers who inhale dust contaminated with microorganisms. OTDS is not contagious.
